Sturdy Gun Safe Manufacturing
Thicker Steel, Plus A Real Fire Liner, Equals A Very Sturdy Gun Safe.
About 12 Gauge Safe Bodies

12 gauge safe bodies will not offer enough protection to store your valuables. The picture above is an example of 12 gauge steel after being attacked with a fire axe for under a minute. It would only take about 2 minutes maximum to pop a large enough hole for the burglar to get the goods. Pictured below is a 12 gauge safe that was involved in a robbery. According to the owner, the robbers used a saw with a diamond blade and a pry bar to break into it.
About 10 Gauge Safe Bodies

Visually, it's hard to tell the difference between the thickness of 10 gauge and 12 gauge. There is no difference when it comes to the amount of time it would take to penetrate it. As you can see from the picture above, it only takes one blow of the fire axe to pop a hole in it. Pictured below is a 10 gauge safe that was involved in a robbery. (The first picture shows the safe to the left, which is the 12 gauge safe mentioned above. The safe to the right is the 10 gauge safe.) According to the owner the robbers started at the bottom of the safe and cut the frame. They then pried the lip out past the bolts in the door. They used a saw to cut the lip at each point till they needed to pry past the bolts to open it.

About 8 And 7 Gauge Bodies

A firemen named Richard sent his old 7 gauge Sturdy Safe to us for free repairs after a few burglars tried using his fire axe to open it for about 10-15 minutes. There was a few small pick marks from the axe on the side wall of the safe but they were so minor the camera could hardly pick it up. They beat off the handle and dial. Furthermore, they tried to hack the top right hinge off (as pictured above). The burglars fail to open our safe miserably and they were so frustrated they even resorted to pushing the safe down on it's side in further attempts to open it before they gave up. Richard hired a locksmith who tried 2 and a half hours to open the safe.
Sturdy Safe Attacked By Power Tools

Police were called to a home at Lupine Road and Dogwood Court, where family members in the front yard told them that armed men had run into the house. The house is near Lupine Hills Elementary School, which was evacuated shortly before 2 p.m.
Hercules Police Chief Fred Deltorchio said the incident started about midday on the 100 block of Golden rock Drive, where a homeowner either came upon a burglary in progress or was the victim of a home- invasion robbery involving three armed men. One man put a gun to the woman's head and ordered her to open a safe that held guns as part of her husband's collection, Deltorchio said.
Pictures Of The Safe That Was Attacked:
What wasn't mentioned in this article, was that the robbers attempted to break into the safe 2-3 hours before the woman came home, using various power tool methods. The safe they attacked, but failed to open, was our Sturdy Safe. We were contacted by the owners and they let us know what happened.

The door was in the same condition as the body is in this picture. It was slightly scratched up. Unfortunately, by the time I got to take this picture, Sturdy Safes workers already started fixing the door and it was removed. However, this goes to show the importance of thicker steel used in safes, and that your average methods of breaking in a safe are fruitless with a Sturdy Safes design.
