I did the research for you. I spent dozens of hours gliding down the home safe rabbit hole and Sturdy repeatedly rose to the surface in every where it matters most - material/build quality and customer service. Both were evident from the moment I called to the when I first opened the safe. I went with the 3224 with the most popular package. The seams don't allow a piece of printer paper to be pass through and the 3/8 inch door feels like your opening a vault, because you are. My safe arrived with a 3" x 1" scuff on the door that occurred during shipment (not uncommon for safes). I emailed Sturdy and they sent out touch up paint and that arrived two days later. They have a YouTube video that provides instruction on applying the paint and my safe now has zero indication of the scratch. Pleasure working with this company and proud to own their safe.
I purchased a 2419 years ago. I have been very happy with it. I have been telling friends or anyone needing a safe about this company. When it became time to get another safe, I chose the 3224. I called and was given a discount for being a return customer. It was delivered less than a month from my order date. The quality is superb and identical to my original purchase. You cannot go wrong with this brand.
I purchased the 3260 about a year ago. I could not be happier with the quality of the safe or the feel of security that it provides! I added the heavy metal upgrade and fire lining, so my safe weighs about 1100 pounds. I hired a company familiar with moving safes. They move safes practically every day. Apparently they don’t move real saves because they had never moved one so heavy? In addition, fit and finish is next to perfect! I was unable to find any flaws in function or workmanship!! Until my research, prior to purchasing my Sturdy gun safe, I had no idea that anybody would be foolish enough to build a safe out of 16 gage material, call it a safe, and then go so far as to profess that it has a fire rating when it’s insulated with some kind of drywall / concrete/ vermiculite product! It’s totally ridiculous! Sturdy uses firewool, a product that’s made for insulating things from fire or heat! Brilliant but rather elementary wouldn’t you think??
Excellent job Study! Sincere thanks for amazing product!!! Again, made in USA says it all!!!
I have had my 3224 with metal hard plate for over 5 years now, I came to see what the prices are like now since we were debating leaving it with selling the house and it's gone up another $1,000, we'll be taking it lol. This safe is a beast and you really can't compare them to the big box store "safes", sure those might protect your stuff for the quick smash and grab which is what most home burglaries are but if you're going to spend that kind of money you might as well buy once cry once, do yourself a favor and just get the better safe, it's all steel, great paint and a rock solid lifetime warranty spin dial lock that i've never had an issue with.
Yeah I can go on about the incredible strength and quality of this safe, which I love, but here’s what it comes down to: Sturdy make a true safe meant to keep your stuff safe, 99% of the others make eye candy lock boxes that can be breached easily by little more than a screwdriver. Plus their customer service is second to none. I’ll never buy another brand.
