Just purchased a 4227-6 safe in October of 2024. Shipment to North Carolina went well and without incident . Had the safe delivered to a local gun safe store that moves these for a living. The delivery crew and I are very impressed with the safes quality. I opted for the fireproofing option, and love the simplicity of the mechanical lock. I added a 6-LED light kit, electrical outlets and high temp Goldenrod. I also opted for gun-rods in lieu of traditional gun racks. I have 3 other safes and prefer them in every safe. I have yet to load up with firearms, but seems to have amply space to hold a lot of pistols, and pcc’s
I spent almost a year researching all the various manufacturers and looking at a lot of them in person. In the end I kept coming back to Sturdy as a better buy. If you’re on the fence, jump down and take the plunge. You won’t regret it.
Bought mine back in back in 2020 and wanted to go through the everyday use before posting a review. Extremely happy with my purchase 4 years later. Everything about the ordering process was smooth and the communication from Sturdy throughout the process was great. Received safe and installed with the help of a skid-steer...lol. Dinged it up getting it in place but Sturdy provided touch-up paint with the safe. After years of use, everything works and looks great. Plenty of room initially but you will find that you will put more and more valuables in there so space will always be at a premium in these things. Glad I got this size. Installed motion activated lights that really compliment the safe. Absolutely happy with the purchase and Sturdy. Well worth the money and peace of mind.

Just got my safe delivered and installed. Super impressed with the build quality. You need to FORGET about any safes that you find in any big-box retailer or even gun safe resellers - they are all junk. Most of those "safes" are actually "security containers" at best and do not do much in the way of preventing even a minimal intrusion effort or fire. Do your research. 99-100% of the safes sold by big-box retailers or safe resellers are total junk. The only exception would be Graffunder safes but be prepared to pay $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for one of those. My opinion is that Sturdy Safes are right up there with Graffunder in terms of build quality and intrusion prevention but the Graffunders are just a little prettier - but I don't care how pretty my safe is - just that it keeps things safe! The Sturdy Safe customer service is also fantastic. I worked with Alyssa throughout the entire process including customizations and quotes. Absolutely recommend Sturdy Gun safes to anyone and everyone!
I contacted Sturdy to build my 4227-6 in late September, I customized the safe adding the Magnum Steel package and interior #3 with rifle rods. It took about 9 weeks to build and once it shipped it was at my door 7 days later. The Sturdy team kept in constant contact throughout my build, called me to provide status updates, and answered any and all questions I had. The customer service was phenomenal, you can really tell how much they truly care. Fast forward to delivery day.......Once I got the pallet into the garage and unwrapped I was blown away. The Sturdy team have EXCEEDED my expectations, the safe is perfect in every way! I am so impressed with the craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail thats put into this safe. This safe is a beast! 2000lbs. empty, with thick solid plate steel everywhere! I went bigger than I originally planned to and I am so glad I did!
