Sturdy Safe Shipping Instructions

If the shipment is going to a residence the freight carrier will call you to schedule a hard delivery date and time. If they don't schedule, don't expect them to come (UNLESS it's going to a business, which they will come without notice). To see if there are any delays, you must call the terminal and reference your tracking/pro number. On the day you are scheduled for delivery, if they don't show up on time, ask them to narrow down the time window.

**Your combination number is on a piece of tape on the inside of the handle (where it cannot be seen from the outside).**

BEFORE ACCEPTING DELIVERY:
Inspect shipment for damage before accepting delivery. Keep the metal banding on, but cut away the foam wrapping to get a better view of the exterior of the safe or vault door. Do NOT open the door or test the dial. You are strictly examining the exterior of the shipment while the truck driver is there.

IF THE DRIVER DOESN'T LET YOU INSPECT:
Damage to the wrapping automatically allows you to be able to inspect the safe, so get a good look at the wrapping first. If all looks good, write on the Bill Of Lading "driver refused to let me inspect before signing", then sign for the shipment.

IF THERE IS DAMAGE:
If you know the damage is beyond what you can repair with some supplies sent to you (such as touch up paint, or a new handle bar), write "Freight Damaged- Refused" on the Bill Of Lading. Take pictures of the damage if you can, and write on the Bill Of Lading what was damaged. They will return the shipment to us, and we can reship at no charge. Do not refuse delivery if it's a simple scratch/rub mark in the paint. If you need help deciding if you should return it, call us before the truck driver leaves. Automatically refuse if the dial has been busted off.

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE HOW BAD THE DAMAGE IS AND YOU STILL WANT TO KEEP IT:
Take pictures of the damage if you can, and write on the Bill Of Lading what damage you see before signing for it. 2

AFTER ACCEPTING DELIVERY:
Let the truck driver go, and remove the rest of the wrapping.
For safes: DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR more than 6" from the body, while the safe is on the pallet, or you run the risk of the safe tipping forward and falling (causing injury or death) due to the condition the pallet might be in from transit, or a pitched foundation. The handle bar movement might be stiff because of the carpet sometimes placed in the corner of the door jam. Once the door is open, remove the carpet.
For vault doors: There is no way to open the door while the vault is laying down. Handle bar movement will be extremely stiff at first. Make sure the dial is in the open position before moving the handle bar. If you have a panic button, it will need to remain pulled out to operate and install the door. The electronic locks used on vaults are not D-Drives. They will automatically lock themselves in about 20 seconds, so be sure to lift up on the handle bar quickly after keying in. The combination for the electronic on the vault door will be 1-2-3-4-5-6 and 1-1-1-1-1-1.

SPIN DIALS ONLY:
Do not spin the dial! It's currently taped in the unlocked YET STILL LOCKED position. Turn the dial clockwise till it comes to a stop around 86. Open the door by firmly lifting up on the handle bar, pull the door no more than 6” away from the body, put the handle bar down, and test the dial with the door in the open position. Once you successfully dial in, you may continue to operate as normal. If you are having problems dialing in, feel free to call us, or watch our "how to dial in" video. Don't close and lock the safe until you are comfortable with the dial in sequence. Never force the dial to turn, or strike it.

ELECTRONIC D-DRIVE DIALS ONLY:
The combination number is 1-2-3-4-5-6-#, then turn the black ring (on the outside of the lock) to the right until it stops. Firmly lift up on the handle to open the door. Change your combination before putting contents in the safe.

TWIN LOCK SYSTEMS- ONE SPIN, ONE ELECTRONIC:
The spin dial and D-Drive will operate as instructed above. Make sure they are both in the open position before lifting up on the handle bar.

MOVING AND INSTALLATION:
Do not move the safe or vault while the door is open, or in a position to swing open. Do not open the door of the safe or vault if it's upside down. If you are setting the safe on the carpeted floor, it must be shimmed in the front, to offset the tack strip along the wall, so it can't pitch forward. It's always recommended to bolt down the safe. Moving and installation is done at your own risk. Could cause injury, death, or damage to property, so use extreme caution.

If you are more of a visual learner, we made a video on how to accept delivery for a gun safe:

PLEASE leave us a review on our website! Go to the order page of the safe you purchased and you will see the review section at the end of that page. This review section will not be view-able with a cell phone. We completely rely on word of mouth as a form of advertising, and we desperately need new reviews. Due to google, recently not allowing customers to leave a review, and the dramatic rate at which they are deleting our reviews.
